Why does honey turn solid?
Honey lasts forever. As long as the bees have properly dehydrated it, honey never spoils. Both liquid and solid (crystallized) honey are safe to eat and are delicious.
Raw, unpasteurized honey like ours (not heated above 110F) will eventually crystallize. This can take a few weeks or many months, depending on the sugar content of the nectar the bees collected. Plus, in raw honey, small bits of pollen, wax, and propolis can trigger crystallization while contributing to the honey’s nutritional profile.
Crystallized honey is convenient for many uses. Or, return it to a liquid state with gentle heat, not above 100F–warm the jar in hot water, in a low oven, or in a microwave (take off the lid and heat the jar for 30 seconds at a time).

A note about our soaps:
We make cold-process and melt-and-pour soaps. To make any soap last longer, we suggest a draining soap dish so the bar can dry out between uses.
